We are excited to welcome Laurie Quesinberry to Earthwise Learning Center! Laurie is generational plant digger who comes from a long line of granny healers deeply connected to the mountain since the 1700’s. Laurie will share her story of growing up as a poacher and her journey to becoming a plant protector and land steward, her deep connection to Ginny Seng (Ginseng), and some traditional remedies and recipes from her heritage. Through tales of struggles and triumphs Laurie will shine light onto the dark side of wild harvesting and the travesty of dealing with plant brokers and the Ginseng market…the common practices that are hidden away in the shadows of the hollers of the Appalachian Mountains. Laurie will also enlighten us on sacred and intuitive wild harvesting for deeper connection to the plants, stronger medicine, and plant preservation. She’ll share how the plants guide her in her work, how we can be better stewards and plant protectors, and how to rescue, grow and use some of our At-Risk medicines. Prepare to be delighted and deeply moved by Laurie, her stories and her love and passion for the plants!
