About the Herbal Heritage Conference
It started with two friends, Phyllis D. Light and Robin McGee, reminiscing over herbal classes they have taught and taken, herbal conferences where they have presented or attended (and still do), their beloved Elders in the herbal world, and those not so well known who just need the opportunity to shine. While they are grateful for the variety of herb schools, online courses, and events available all
over the country for learning herbal medicine and bringing plant people together Phyllis and Robin acknowledged that there is a need for an herbal conference
in South Carolina. And so it began...

It's Time to Get Back to the LAND!
.
Our focus for the Herbal Heritage Conference is
Back to the Land!
In this crazy, over-stimulating, distracting and often maddening time we live it can be easy to lose one's sense of self and connection to the earth. We hear people talk about feeling disconnected. We need grounding! We need to remember why we are here! We need to get Back to the Land!
We are honored and blessed to have what we feel is an
impressive lineup of Teachers for our inaugural conference!
We don't have space to host dozens of teachers at time, but we will have a
mix of well-know and not-so-well-known teachers each year.
Classes are two hours in length so that teachers have more time to cover their material. Some classes will be offered more than once so attendees won't have to
miss 'that one class.' (Schedule & Class Descriptions)
Classes will end around 6pm on Friday and Saturday
so attendees can spend time talking, laughing, and getting to know each other.
On Saturday evening the local band, Wheeler, will be playing for your entertainment.
Tips are appreciated!
Lead singer and keyboard goddess Cat Cox has an amazing voice!
If weather permits we will have a campfire each evening.
From rescued medicinal plants to crystals and gemstones and everything in between Vendor Village will provide opportunity for purchasing nature-related goodies.
We know how herbfolk love to shop while supporting small, local businesses!
INFO FOR VENDORS
Friends Farm and Catering will have their Food Truck onsite for
scrumptious food. Katie and Val never disappoint! Yes, they have vegetarian options! We plan to have a few more food trucks and will list them as we get confirmation.
There is a list of local restaurants on the Food page for getting breakfast each morning (if we don't have a breakfast food truck) and dinner (supper to us)
if you choose to leave the conference site. We understand that many people
have food sensitivities and have to be extra careful with what they consume,
so if that is a concern please know that you can bring your own food.
We won't get our feelings hurt...we want you to be nourished!
Onsite tent camping is free for conference attendees.
Campgrounds are nearby for folks who prefer the comfort of their travel trailer.
Hotels in Hartwell, Ga and Anderson, SC offer creature comforts as well.
(Both towns are 20 minutes away.)
Check out our Lodging page for details.
Registration includes all classes, parking, onsite tent camping, and shopping in Vendor Village. Early Bird pricing is available through January 6.
We hope you will join us!
See you soon,
Phyllis and Robin
